Our Story
A Costa Rican family, one food truck, and a stubborn belief that comfort food should taste like where it came from.
From our table to the Gulf Coast
We grew up eating gallo pinto before school, olla de carne when it rained, and empanadas from the corner soda long after dark. When we settled in Pensacola, that food was the thing we missed most — so we built a truck to bring it here.
Everything on the menu comes from recipes our family already cooked. The empanada dough is folded by hand each morning. The beans are simmered from scratch. The seasoning starts with Salsa Lizano, the way it does in every Tico kitchen, and finishes with fresh cilantro and sweet chile dulce.
We are proud to be a small, family-owned Pensacola business. Every order goes straight back into the truck, the ingredients, and the events we get to be part of across the community.

What we stand on
Six things we refuse to compromise
Family recipes
Gallo pinto, olla de carne, casados and empanadas exactly as they are made in our family kitchen — no Americanized shortcuts.
Fresh ingredients
Beans simmered from dry, plantains ripened on the counter, cilantro and chile dulce chopped the morning we serve them.
Late-night bites
Boquitas tipo cantina — chicharrón, yuca frita, patacones and Taco Tico — for the hours when everything else is closed.
Street food culture
Costa Rican food is eaten standing up, sharing plates, talking loudly. We keep that energy at the window.
Hospitality
Hecho con amor. You will leave with a full plate and a ¡pura vida!, whether it is your first visit or your fiftieth.
Community
We show up for Pensacola festivals, church events, school fundraisers and neighborhood nights all year long.
